Day 3

Tuesday morning, I woke up so sore that it was all I could do to make myself get out of bed! The thighs screamed at me with every step I took and my arms and abs were still hurting from Sunday's workout. I was one stiff girl!!

This was probably my favorite workout so far! We worked on Shoulders, Arms and Abs. I knew it was going to be a tough workout but my Dad kept telling me how much he loved this workout that I went into with the expectation that it would be a little bit easier... Boy was I wrong!! I was dripping in sweat within the first 10 minutes! But it was a fun workout that left me feeling powerful and strong! I feel more motivated that night then I had on that first night!! Almost 100% of the time we were doing band work but these pushed you to the maximum of your limit and I loved it!

As far as diet goes... what a bummer this day was!! That morning, I had decided to start on the South Beach Diet. I started this diet last summer after a trip to my doctor when she informed me that my cholesterol was so high that I was running a dangerous risk of a heart attack. She put me on medication and told me something needs to change. She suggested that I begin the south beach diet, which I did, but I just couldn’t afford to keep up with the online membership. Anyway, this diet consists of 3 phases. The first phase is the shortest but it is also the strictest. On this phase, you cannot have any carbs, and no sweets. So no bread, pasta, rice, or sugar. That is so tough!! But the second phase you can start introducing whole wheat and whole grains into your diet. This diet has amazing reviews and it producing amazing results. Last summer when I went on the SBD, in the week that I did it, I dropped 3 pounds (you would think that would make me stay on it!!)

Tuesday morning I only had a cup of coffee for my breakfast and for lunch I had some leftover steamed broccoli. At that point, I knew I was going to have to go to the grocery store if I wanted to keep up on this diet! Well, everyone knows that you never go to the grocery store when you are hungry because then you but unnecessary things! So I made myself some tuna. No bread, just tuna, relish, mayo and some old bay. Then I went to the grocery store and loaded up on healthy, phase 1 SBD approved food.

By the time I got home, my feet were hurting so bad that I could barely walk and I just didn’t feel like cooking. Well unfortunately, nobody else in my house wanted to cook either so we order pizza. BAD BAD BAD food choice! Pepperoni pizza and french fries... needless to say, I did not follow the SBD that day!! I was so disappointed in myself and my lack of food control! I hope that I didn’t mess myself up for my weigh in this week!!

One day at a time...
