Sunday night was the first night of my workouts with my Dad. That
night, we worked on Chest, Back and Abs. WOW! That was some workout! In the
workout, the demonstrators were using a pull up bar but we didn’t have one so
we used resistant bands that hang over the back of a door. My Dad and I took
turns using the bands until we reached our goal for that exercise. They also
had you doing no less than 100 pushups on this thing but for someone who
struggles to do 5, that just wasn’t happening! So I just did some extra
"band" work to make up for my lack of strength. After the hour long
work out on the back and chest, they then began the most intense, extreme
workout on the abs that I have ever seen in my life! I have done some sort of
P90X workout in the past and I had worked my abs in one of the DVDs that I
watched but that was not the same workout that was playing on the TV on
Sunday!! I did what I could but when they did some that I wasn’t able to
complete, I just did my own crunches and kind of did my own thing.
After I completed
my workout, I sat down, ate a nice large Chicken Caesar Salad and devoured a
bottle of water. Normally, my go-to Sunday night dinner would be the McDonalds
drive-thru and I would drink a large soda to go with it. But when I decided to
start this journey, I told myself that I would go all in. Exercise and Diet.
After I finished
my dinner, I turned to close the window so I could go to bed and when I lifted
my arms, they felt like butter!! I was amazed at how weak I felt and how little
I could use my arms!! The next morning when I woke up, I was feeling pretty
good. A little weak but I wasn't sore or stiff or even weak. I felt
normal... if there is such a thing as normal. As the day went on though, all of
that changed. My arms got very sore, stiff and I was totally weak. My arms were
so sore that I could barely life my niece and nephew!! However, it was a nice
feeling to know that I had worked out and my body was responding to my
efforts.
when I can't do the push-ups (weak wrists?? idk), i modify to my knees...and sometimes it's just me layin' on the floor, pushing my arms up, lol ;)
